Three Plugins that You Will Love

and May Bring You Traffic and Business to Your Site

I have just followed the “movement” and enabled three plugins that can benefit all of you following along here.

First off, I have removed the “no follow” attribute in the comments section using the No Follow Free Plugin. When you leave a comment, you now get a backlink that will count in the search engines from me.

But hold on, it gets even better. I have also enabled Comment Luv and Keyword Luv which gives you the opportunity to actually get two backlinks and keyword rich anchor text from one comment.

Comment Luv works by showing a link to the title from your latest blog post on your site under your comment. This not only gives you a backlink to your blog, but if your post title is interesting enough, some of my readers may be inclined to visit you.

Keyword Luv is fairly new and I can already see the value in having a plugin like this. This one is especially important for those of you who are not using a blog for your url in the comment section.

Keyword Luv works by separating your name from the keywords you would like to use in the anchor text of your comment. This gives you much improved anchor text for the link. So instead of just your name or keywords being hyperlinked in the comment, your comment will look a little like this:

If they enter "Damon@Top Camera Review" in the Name field, their comment will have:

If they don’t enter the @ symbol, the anchor text will simply display as normal. For a live example, see the first comment below.

Why Is Anchor Text Important?

There are many articles about the value of having your keywords in the anchor text of backlinks to your site. This helps your site rank well for those keywords with the search engines, bringing you more traffic.

One source of backlinks are comments on DoFollow blogs, but the anchor text is normally your name. While this helps you rank well for your name, it’s practically worthless for your keywords. That’s why some commentators put keywords in the name field, but they risk being marked as spammers.

I understand people’s desire to get the best value from their link, but I’m tired of answering comments with "Hi Miami Hotels". I’d like them to leave their name, without it effecting their keyword benefit. Enter KeywordLuv…

By using KeywordLuv (and a Dofollow plugin) you get better links, rewarding the commenter and encouraging more people to comment.

This is not an email address. It just tells the plugin to parse the the name and use everything after as the anchor text for the link. Go on, leave me a comment and give it a try to see how it works.

NOTE: I have been pretty liberal in approving comments, however recent extensive abuse is making me add to this post. Folks, I'm not stupid. I've been at this for years and I realize most of you are only looking for a link. You stand a much greater chance of getting it approved if you at least look like you are adding to the discussion. The ones you see below and elsewhere on this site took the time to make the attempt, follow their lead. If it continues, I'll leave Keyword Luv and Comment Luv enabled but will re-enable nofollow on the links. You don't want that and neither do I. Use the comment section wisely.
